The research base
150+ studies. Strong evidence for collagen synthesis and wound healing. Hair follicle research expanding.
How it works
Upregulates collagen I, III, IV synthesis. Inhibits matrix metalloproteinase (MMP). Promotes tissue remodeling.
Common research protocols
Some protocols use 4-6 week cycles followed by 2-4 week breaks. Topical 1-3% solution typical for skin research. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, never freeze reconstituted. Loren Pickart's original research used 0.1-3mg subcutaneous.
As a solo compound
Excellent standalone compound. Strong solo research for skin and collagen.
What to know
Topical: minimal. Systemic: occasional mild blue discoloration at injection site.
Realistic expectations
4-12 weeks for skin/hair effects
